This is the definitive version of the epic closing track from my first album. The arrangement is heavily extended and reworked (it may be ~10 minutes longer, but it doesn't drag like the original does, at least to me).

"The Hero and Other Tales" is both a remaster/reworking of "The Hero" as well as a medley of other songs from the album of the same name not included on this best of album in full. The name of the song was changed to reflect this. Songs included in the arrangement are:
The Hero
Grim Fantasy
Mystics From an Age Long Past
Ruins of Etemenanki
In the Court of the Red Priest

Several sections were added. A jam section which shifts between straight-up rock and neoclassical metal was added and contains one of my favorite "improvised" solos, as well as a masterful keyboard solo from my bandmate Eva Sanchez! The power metal solo section was extended to include a ripping guest solo from my bandmate Dylan Meldrum!

This is, to me, the crown jewel of my discography.
