In the distant future, humanity has harnessed the awesome power of black holes to provide limitless energy to their highly advanced utopian civilization. The singularity engines were thought to be perfect in every way: infinitely sustainable, clean, maintenance-free energy sources.

That all changed the day a singularity breached its containment field. Humanity collectively trembled in fear as the singularity began to consume their planet atom by atom.

The single unifying hope for mankind rested in the hands of a small research team stationed on Pluto who were testing the prototype of a device known as the singularity nullifier; a device designed to destroy black holes. Having only been tested on small, contained black holes, there was no guarantee it would work on one of such magnitude, but there was no other option. The team set a course for Earth and departed as soon as the emergency transmission hit their receivers.

With any luck, they'd make it in time to save half of their homeworld...
